Resistència (II)
Reprodueixo aquí amb emoció un poema trobat al llibre d’Anne Applebaum Gulag: A History. El va escriure un dels primers editors d’Alexander Solzhenitsin, Alexander Tvardovsky, ara fa uns 40 anys. Des d’aquestes pàgines continuem pensant que cal explicar el passat amb claredat i rigor , sense declamacions ni demagògies ni excessos, però perseverant jorn rere jorn, per construir una societat no sols rica econòmica i tecnològicament, si no també i sobretot en aquelles variables, més complexes de copsar, que encara no es poden mesurar amb indicadors científics globals .

NO. Duty commands that everything now

Existeix en les nostres societats una mística de la gestió i de la eficàcia, com si es tractés d’una mena de ciència exacta independent dels vectors ideològics amb queèes nodreixen, que forma part del discurs demagògic de molts partits i col·lectius. És el discurs que “Ciutadans” i altres forces populistes porten a l’extrem “Allò que importa a la gent en el dia a dia” i la queixa per gastar recursos en el que consideren qüestions simbòliques.
Per altra banda, ja saps que penso que els principals corrents polítics dels darrers dos segles (socialisme i liberalisme) van amarats d’una concepció gairebé religiosa del progrès material i tècnic, com si avançar en aquests camps portés per sí mateix a una mena de redempció social. És evident que la misèria i la falta de mitjans extrema embruteix, però si no es fa front a aquestes altres variables que esmentes, una societat resta alienada i desballestada, fràgil i exposada a totes les desnaturalitzacions que se li vulguin imposar. Crec que aquest missatge és important, i com deia Max Weber, cal sempre tenir present que les coses no es poden considerar només en funció de la seva utilitat mesurable, ans també i sobretot en funció del seu sentit.

I have just seen an incredible documentary, “Tovarisch:I am not dead”,by Stuart Urban.I really recommended it.It’s the real story of his father scaping from a Gulag.In the documentary they interviewed Anne Applebaum, and they talked a little about her book.

I saw it in a theater.I’ve just sent to Paolo all the details for buying it, as a friend of mine ask the director (Stuart Urban) how to get it.He is an amazing person, and he also speaks spanish.I don’t know if I can put here all the details,so if you want I can send you the information too.Anyway I think I will ask Stuart if he agrees to attach all the information at your website if you like, as I know that is really difficult to get some documentary films for normal people like us.Not all of them have distributors, so for example Cyclops vision, the Stuart’s production company sell it by Paypal.

Emil, you are providing us a very valuable information. I spent some of my time as journalist covering cinema events so I will try to find a copy by my own means, or even ascertaining if we will have any spanish première in next times. Anyway, if Paolo have all the details it’s ok for me.
On the other hand, we have been thinking about a new section in our website regarding inspiring books and films. Chiefly, I am interested in documentaries, so I suppose there will be a place for such a suggestive project!
Please, keep reporting us any interesting doc you think it’s in tune with these pages.
